February 21, 2021

Welcome to Moncton Wesleyan!

“God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27, ESV). As God’s image-bearers, we are called and empowered to carry on His creative work throughout the Earth. Even in the midst of the destruction brought on by sin, through God’s constant redemptive will, there is “hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God” (Romans 8:21, ESV). In conjunction with our Imagine ’21 creative arts event on February 20th (see below), join us on Sunday, February 21st, for a special online-only service celebrating the renewal in God’s image of all who repent and trust in Him and of our opportunities to extend this renewal to the rest of creation. Invite family, friends, neighbours, and coworkers!

Orange-Level public health restrictions are currently in place in our area, meaning that our services and most other church events are online-only until further notice. You can experience our service online on our Facebook Page and Youtube Channel every Sunday at 10:30am AST (pre-service announcement segment starts at 10:15am). Our sermons are also released in podcast format every Sunday afternoon on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. If you have any questions please email info@mw.church.

It’s always a fantastic time to join a small group! We have online Zoom groups (and in-person groups when public health guidelines permit) available for adults of all ages and stages, allowing us to continue to stay connected and grow together through these ever-changing times. Let’s lean into this season with creativity and innovation to make the most of a challenging situation. Click here to sign up for small groups.

If there has ever been a time in recent memory where we as a society have been in desperate need of re-imagination, of re-imaging, it is now. Even in the midst of so much hopelessness, God has so much HOPE for us! Yet most of the time, we cannot believe what we cannot see. We need Spiritually-inspired imaginations to help us visualise realities that CAN be, a Kingdom that IS coming.

Join us online at mw.church/imagine for a one-hour curated visual walk-through of Imagine ’21, an arts exhibition featuring music, dance, visual arts, poetry and more. Imagine ’21 is an opportunity to set our God-given imaginations loose, to visualise a brighter, more beautiful future. See you on Saturday, February 20 at 7pm!

Would you like to dig in deeper to the important and practical topics we’re discussing as part of our “Six Habits of Healthy People” sermon series? If so, then good news! Every Wednesday at 7pm during this series, we’re hosting a live Q&A panel regarding the previous Sunday’s sermon topic, featuring our pastors and experts on the topic from around our church family. This past Wednesday, Pastors Jeremy MacDonald and Patrick Steeves, as well as Mireille Hutt and Elaine Jackman, discussed the importance of guarding our purity and some effective pathways toward freedom from pornography. You can view our midweek panels live or anytime afterwards on our Facebook page. We also release them afterwards on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Hope to see you online!

Kids’ World has new discipleship resources available each week–we want to bring the love of Jesus right into your home! Each Sunday, we host our own live pre-service at 9:30am on our Facebook Page and YouTube channel.

Furthermore, More for Moms is back to meeting in person! We welcome all mothers to join us on Monday nights in the Life Centre at 7:30pm for a time of fellowship together. Remember that childcare is not provided, but if that’s a problem, let’s chat!

Feel free to e-mail us at kidsworld@mw.church and we’d be more than happy to answer your questions. We look forward to having you and your kids with us online in Kids’ World!

Here at PRYME, our goal is to help students (grades 6-12) develop a lasting, personal faith. Our online services are live at mw.church/prymezoom every Wed. at 7:00pm AST. You can also register to attend in person here. We’d love for you to join us next week for a powerful sermon on racial justice as part of our “Love Does” series!

To stay in the loop about PRYME, click here to sign up for our weekly update email or reach out at students@mw.church. Also check out our students’ Facebook page, parents’ Facebook group, and prymesm Instagram account. Be sure to check out our Pastors’ Chat on FB Live on Tuesdays and IG Live on Thursdays, both at 4:00pm.
